I wove a shawl with strips of silk as weft. I used a rotary cutter to make a few strips every time I passed the table. Boring, but doable.

I have a reg cutter which I have enjoyed using for decades. I did have to replace the blade once - and the company probably no longer exists! But it allows cuts of different width . I do see the ends together in lengths appropriate for my shuttles.

I’m just about to start a rag rug with Pendleton selvages. No ripping needed. I’m going to weave a tabby hem. Never wove these before. Anything I need to be thinking of?
