Warp ready to go!
Cutting ragsI
Now that I've given up on photos, they suddenly appear. So here we are, taking our next steps on this rug. As you can tell, there's a lot to learn in order to do a blog. But I'm enjoying the journey. So :WHAT ARE YOU WEAVING???
I wove a shawl with strips of silk as weft. I used a rotary cutter to make a few strips every time I passed the table. Boring, but doable.
I have a reg cutter which I have enjoyed using for decades. I did have to replace the blade once - and the company probably no longer exists! But it allows cuts of different width . I do see the ends together in lengths appropriate for my shuttles.
I’m just about to start a rag rug with Pendleton selvages. No ripping needed. I’m going to weave a tabby hem. Never wove these before. Anything I need to be thinking of?
