Weavers Study Group always amazes with its wide variety of projects. For every weaver there is an interesting project going on. No two are ever alike. But the FUNKIEST PROJECT prize has to go to Debra G who brought her Vararfeldur pillow she wove while taking Robin L's historical weaving class. It was woven using Robin's Meridian Jacobs fleece: the fleece is laid into a traditional tabby or twill background. The technique was originally meant to weave a cloak: that must have made the wearer look like an animal! Maybe that was the point - disguise? Debra made this pillow but said others made small purses. Too fun! She is going to enter the pillowin the Open House so you will all be able to see it.
Our next colorful weavings were brought by Keesha who wove this wildly colorful potholder - done on a traditional child's potholder loom. It was fun to see it and remember our days of using them.
Keesha also shared her wonderful coasters - all 4 woven in a differnt pattern. Who wouldn't want to have one of those to set your coffee on?
There are always so many great weavings to explore: it is fun to see them and share them. Feel free to jump in and join the SWSG Weavers Study Group any time. We are always happy to see new faces and projects.
